About Us

We leverage technology to improve animals' experiences, creating novel ethical enrichment systems to increase animals' control over their environments and enhance interspecies connectedness. Our lab’s recent projects include sonic enrichment for zoo animalsπŸŽΌπŸ“’πŸ’, video-calling for parrots πŸ¦œπŸ“ΊπŸ¦œ, and ergonomic game design for pets πŸ“±πŸ‘ˆπŸˆ.

Impact

Our work has been featured in the New York Times, the Washington Post, and over 1000 media outlets. We collaborate with various institutions, our local zoo and aquarium, husbandry professionals, and industry leaders to enhance animal life quality in zoos, homes, farms, and beyond. 

About you

The ideal candidate should be a creative technologist, well-versed in prototyping and with graduate level expertise in at least one area including engineering, software development, and/or animal studies. 

Funding and contact

The program offers up to five years of funding, which includes a stipend, full tuition coverage for approved courses and a student health insurance plan.
